This listing is for our 8oz Dot's Dark Roast.

Low toned, with accents of roasted almond, milk chocolate-covered nuts, chocolate torte, and hint of chocolate malted grains in the aftertaste.

Expect lots of body, accompanied with bold cocoa flavors and subtle nutty accents. Great for brewed coffee or espresso.

FARM NOTES: We are stoked to get our hands on lot #2 from the Luis Otavio family farm (our first ever dark roast offering!!). 

Coffee farming runs deep in Luis Otavio Turati's family lineage. After his grandfather spent many years working the fields at other people's farms, Luis' father, Jose, set out to plant his own coffee first in Guaxupé. He and his family eventually settled in Serra da Canastra, in South Minas, where they would plant their 120 hectare farm, Novo Horizonte. Drawn to the higher altitudes found in the area and proximity to the nearby National Park, the Turati family have worked to improve their picking and processing methods in service of the final cup.

This lot is made up of Yellow Catuaí cultivar, that was naturally processed by drying the whole coffee cherry on cement patios for upwards of 3 weeks. Despite the process method, the two lots show clean sweetness comparatively, with focused bittersweet chocolate flavors, mild acidity, and a creamy mouthfeel.
